Jenn divides her life between the pine forests of North Carolina, USA and the wild west of North Wales, UK, at the foot of Snowdon, the tallest mountain in England and Wales. She is a fluent Welsh speaker, and is simultaneously working on a BA in Welsh Studies and a BA in Psychology. In her free time, Jenn climbs local mountains, enjoys her family and close friends, as well as reading and writing poetry and folk tales. She works as a basic Welsh tutor and free-lance genealogist, and contributes articles regularly to a number of online publications. and enjoys learning about the natural beauty of places and people, especially indigenous peoples. Jenn attends her local Friends’ Meeting (Quakers) regularly and is always interested in meeting people who are consciously seeking to establish peace, justice, sustainability, honour, and compassion as a way of life.

She first thought of “Feral Poetry” after six months of creative stand-still in her life. The idea arose in response to a need she saw in the poetic community for poetry that cuts through the “crap” of ego and persona and gets to the heart of reality instead of being trapped in neurosis.

Her interests are wide and varied from handcrafts to traditional Celtic cooking, nomadic and self-sufficient living, Buddhism, Daoism, Polytheism and Sufism, archetypal and eco-psychologies, ancestry, the American Revolution, swimming, singing, belly-dancing and clog-dancing, horse-riding and linguistics. Jenn is also an ardent letter-correspondent.

I am a wilderness, an untended dream
just beneath the surface
waiting to break through
like roots through concrete.

(from her poem “Feral”)
